As the leading pediatric health care system in North Texas — and
the eighth-largest in the United States — Children’s Health is
dedicated to providing a full spectrum of health care services to
children, from daily wellness and primary care to specialty visits
and critical care.
At the heart of this award-winning system is the flagship hospital,
Children’s Medical Center Dallas — the only North Texas hospital
to be nationally ranked in the most pediatric specialties by U.S.
News & World Report, including cardiology, cancer, neurology and
neurosurgery, gastroenterology, urology and more. It is also the
only pediatric Level I Trauma Center in the region, with highly skilled
teams of pediatric providers who are specially trained to coordinate
the complex care of children with severe and life-threatening
injuries. The hospital is designated by the American Nurses
Credentialing Center as a Magnet hospital, an honor received by
less than 8 percent of hospitals in the nation for nursing excellence
and high-quality patient care.
Children’s Health is also the only pediatric system in the country
with eight disease-specific care certifications from The Joint
Commission, including asthma management, diabetes education, epilepsy, eating disorders, fetal heart care and more. The
system’s programs and resources focus on a family-centered
approach, with care delivered by a collaborative team of experts.
For everyday health and wellness, Children’s Health Pediatric Group
provides a medical home for children when they are both sick and
well. With multiple locations throughout North Texas, the practices’
primary care providers care for all aspects of the child and his or her
health care needs—including well child exams and immunizations,
treatment of common illnesses like cold and flu, treatment of chronic
conditions such as asthma, and behavioral health support by a
childhood psychiatrist, psychologist or social worker.
To support young athletes, Children’s Health offers comprehensive, personalized care at the Children’s Health Andrews
Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Formed under the
direction of world-renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews, the
program’s highly skilled team of physicians, surgeons, nurses
and in-house physical therapists work together to treat the full
range of orthopedic conditions and sports injuries. With the goal
of keeping athletes on the playing field and out of the operating
room through injury prevention, the Children’s Health Andrews
Institute is the first pediatric provider to work with EXOS, a
leader in proactive health and performance, to offer performance
training and nutrition services to children in the area.
With renowned medical staff and cutting-edge research, Children’s
Health is at the forefront of finding new treatments and using
the latest technology to provide the children of North Texas and
beyond with the pediatric care they deserve. Innovations like
Remote Patient Monitoring, School-Based Telehealth, TeleNICU
and Tele-ER make it easier to access the system’s award-winning
care beyond its facilities and in the communities where children and
families live, learn and play.
Having supported North Texas families for more than 100
years, the Children’s Health mission remains to make life
better for children.
