War is hell, but coming home shouldn’t be. That is why
the Dallas Builders Association has partnered with
Operation Finally Home to build mortgage-free homes
for wounded veterans of our nation’s armed forces.
Association leaders have promised that the partnership
is a long-term mutual mission that will continue so long
as there are wounded heroes in need of housing. “Just
as our nation’s troops served us, we now must serve
them,” states Executive Officer Phil Crone.
Operation Finally Home supporters from the Dallas BA
volunteer their time, energy, materials and financial
support to projects that build the American Dream
for deserving veterans who are in the business of
protecting and defending it.
In 2014, the Association and its members completed its
first two projects for combat wounded veterans in Little
Elm and Cedar Hill. The Association will complete three
additional homes in 2016. Michael Turner with Classic
Urban Homes will construct one in Oak Point for Staff
Sgt. James Sackett and his family. A second project is
located in Rockwall and is led by Mike Mishler of Mishler
Builders. Recipient of this home is Sgt. 1st Class Jerry
Holcomb and his family. A third home is being built in
Greenville by Altura Homes.
